Project 365

Ok, I have discovered a new app Project 365 (thanks to elise…who also happens to be one of my favorite bloggers). It basically does what I set out to do with this blog (about 300 days ago). It sets up a picture a day and I can also write a small blurb about my day. So here is what I've got so far this month. I only missed one day so far. Happy January!

So this is my month. My new workout obsession The Dailey Method. An early morning trip to The City for a Dr. appointment. Super Mario Brothers, on Super Nintendo. Book club, read "The Road"…made an armageddon packing list. Funny pictures of our cat Kirky. Rain, rain and more rain. Sharks game with the parents. The worst traffic home ever! Tutoring with Reading Partners. Finally, a much deserved CupKate today after a few days of an annoying head cold my double vanilla just hit the spot.

12 Days of Christmas

So I discovered tonight that we have had our own version of the 12 Days of Christmas, thanks to our cat. In the last week or so we have had a 50 bird feathers, 4 messy raccoons, , 2 mice, one body-less bird, and some sort of animal insides…all right at the entrance to our bedroom. At least he's sticking with the "bird" theme. So whatever you are doing to celebrate this holiday season, I hope it is less gross than dead animals :).

Merry Christmas!

Sactown, the Bay Area and back down

What a whirlwind weekend! Friday night Matt took me to dinner at Pizzaiolo for a belated birthday dinner. One word, AMAZING!! We have always walked past it on the way to Dona Tomas and had heard great things. We were so excited about our meal, every last bite of it. We had a four course meal at Pizzaiolo, but started our meal off at Dona Tomas where we had drinks and chips & salsa. Our starter was an Heirloom tomato salad with beans, then we split a rigatoni with braised pork ragu, followed by a pizza margherita, and then finished with the bread pudding with huckleberry sauce. Everything was so good that I was having moments where I swore I was back living in Tuscany.

Saturday I went up to the Vacaville outlets for some (very) early christmas shopping, and a little personal shopping as well, I couldn't help the HUGE sale at the Gap Outlet. Then I had an appointment to get my hair cut. Then was the big reason I went up to Sacramento…to watch Twilight (the movie). Tina and I made dinner…correction, Tina made dinner, I made dessert and we watched Twilight. It was a great girls night in, and the movie was about what I was expecting. Fun to see the book on screen, but some really cheesy parts (like when Bella hops on Edwards back and he runs up the hill…I laughed out loud.)

Sunday we went to brunch at R15, and then I went over and hung out with the Broyles at Scott's Seafood on the river and celebrated an impromptu 6 month birthday party for Barrett. We took the boat back to their house and played a few rounds of Mafia. Then I headed up to Placerville for a wonderful dinner with Matt and Donna (his mom). And I got to meet the newest addition to the family…Lulu. She is an 8-week old Australian Shepherd, and is absolutely adorable, so cudly and mellow (at times). She loves chewing on, licking, and chasing feet :). After I tore myself away from puppy cudling time, I made it back to Oakland around 11:30pm…phew…a long weekend, but a great one. Now onto an equally long week, with lots of fun stuff planned for the non-working hours.

Little Kirky

Ok, so I fear I am turning into a crazy cat lady, but I LOVE my cat! He had a pretty rough Sunday with getting his shots and has been pretty pooped out the last few days. I snapped these pictures because I thought they were just too funny. He wiggles himself into some pretty funny positions when he's sleeping. And he also gets shy and doesn't want his picture taken, the 2nd one is his "no mom" face!

Go-bearian?!

Has anyone heard of this dog before? Being that I have worked at Cal for 5+ years now, my boyfriend is a Cal grad, I have been going to Cal games my entire life, have Cal in my blood…how cool would it be to own a dog that is a Goberian! It is a mix between a Golden Retriever and a Siberian Husky, what a fun mix! And they are super cute!
