Project 365

Ok, I have discovered a new app Project 365 (thanks to elise…who also happens to be one of my favorite bloggers). It basically does what I set out to do with this blog (about 300 days ago). It sets up a picture a day and I can also write a small blurb about my day. So here is what I've got so far this month. I only missed one day so far. Happy January!

So this is my month. My new workout obsession The Dailey Method. An early morning trip to The City for a Dr. appointment. Super Mario Brothers, on Super Nintendo. Book club, read "The Road"…made an armageddon packing list. Funny pictures of our cat Kirky. Rain, rain and more rain. Sharks game with the parents. The worst traffic home ever! Tutoring with Reading Partners. Finally, a much deserved CupKate today after a few days of an annoying head cold my double vanilla just hit the spot.

Springtime Inspiration

This came up as a sidebar add in my yahoo account and the first words out of my mouth were…I really wish it were spring.

Picture 5

I want to be wearing boyfriend jeans and comfy loafers and lacy tops. And that bag…love.

So I feel like I spend more time apologizing about not posting than actually posting. But I guess that counts as a post right? I guess I just have a major case of "writers blog" (get "block"…??). Regardless, I am just searching for motivation to keep up with my posting. I know the holidays get busy but that is no excuse. I WILL update my blog, I will, I will, I will.

In the meantime here is a picture of our xmas tree, with me and Kirky. It will go down in history as one of the BEST purchases EVER! Target after xmas sale, January 2006…6 ft. fake tree=$10 (90% off!!) am I a bargain shopper or what?! It's pretty and I bet you couldn't even tell it's fake :). It's also been getting super chilly at night, thus the thick sweater!

I have the last meeting tomorrow for my Marketing Research class. This is my 4th of 6 total classes until I come out with a graduate certificate in Marketing from UC Berkeley extension. I am currently finishing up a group paper on Organic Dog Food…do I own a dog? Nope, but somehow I ended up in a group where I am completing a 15 page data analysis paper on dog food. Super thrilling. But honestly the class has been great and I am learning a lot about data analysis. Plus, I get to work in Excel and if you know me you know I love Excel spreadsheets, and color coding them, and that I brag about it to anyone who will listen. I am still awake at nearly midnight on a Wednesday because I decided that I wanted to be awake and alert to finish the paper tonight, so I had a latte at 4PM…now sleep isn't something I see in my near future. But I'm gonna try. Good night.

p.s. Is it seriously December already? Where the heck did this year go?

Denim therapy

Ok, so it was an emotional day today. My two favorite pairs of jeans both have small holes and are in desperate need of some therapy. Google does amazing things sometimes and up popped the site for Denim Therapy. So today I packed up my pants and sent them off via FedEx to NYC. I am optimistic that it'll turn out great, and I won't have to go shopping for new jeans, at least for a good long while.

Sactown, the Bay Area and back down

What a whirlwind weekend! Friday night Matt took me to dinner at Pizzaiolo for a belated birthday dinner. One word, AMAZING!! We have always walked past it on the way to Dona Tomas and had heard great things. We were so excited about our meal, every last bite of it. We had a four course meal at Pizzaiolo, but started our meal off at Dona Tomas where we had drinks and chips & salsa. Our starter was an Heirloom tomato salad with beans, then we split a rigatoni with braised pork ragu, followed by a pizza margherita, and then finished with the bread pudding with huckleberry sauce. Everything was so good that I was having moments where I swore I was back living in Tuscany.

Saturday I went up to the Vacaville outlets for some (very) early christmas shopping, and a little personal shopping as well, I couldn't help the HUGE sale at the Gap Outlet. Then I had an appointment to get my hair cut. Then was the big reason I went up to Sacramento…to watch Twilight (the movie). Tina and I made dinner…correction, Tina made dinner, I made dessert and we watched Twilight. It was a great girls night in, and the movie was about what I was expecting. Fun to see the book on screen, but some really cheesy parts (like when Bella hops on Edwards back and he runs up the hill…I laughed out loud.)

Sunday we went to brunch at R15, and then I went over and hung out with the Broyles at Scott's Seafood on the river and celebrated an impromptu 6 month birthday party for Barrett. We took the boat back to their house and played a few rounds of Mafia. Then I headed up to Placerville for a wonderful dinner with Matt and Donna (his mom). And I got to meet the newest addition to the family…Lulu. She is an 8-week old Australian Shepherd, and is absolutely adorable, so cudly and mellow (at times). She loves chewing on, licking, and chasing feet :). After I tore myself away from puppy cudling time, I made it back to Oakland around 11:30pm…phew…a long weekend, but a great one. Now onto an equally long week, with lots of fun stuff planned for the non-working hours.

Stay Tuned

Ok…so I made the plunge and bought a camera. A nice camera. A digital SLR camera: the Canon XSI. I picked it up yesterday and started playing around with it and so far I love it!! I have some artistic shots of my cat, and our tomato plants and the sunset from our house…now I just have to figure out how to get the pictures into my computer. Stay tuned…better pictures and better posts are just around the corner.

Ok, so I apologize in advance to my male readers (if I have any) but I just wanted to talk about my awesome new bra :). I received a $10 Victoria's Secret gift card to use during my birthday month, which just so happens to be September! So I figured it was a great time to invest in a new "support" garment. Now, you ladies out there will understand that bra shopping really is a headache. I would say it goes hand in hand with shopping for jeans. You try on 20 pairs just to find one that is juuuuuust right. Well I just so happen to have found a perfect bra! The bad part is that I have no idea what it's called! It's not available online…or so it appears and the tag on the bra doesn't say the style. Hey VS…it would be a good idea to label your products so that people will know how to buy another one, in a different color :). It has two little straps on each side (instead of one solid one) and criss-cross in between the cups. Thin lining, neutral color, plain and simple and not online. So I didn't mean this post to be a tease and I will continue to look for the actual style name, but I do highly recommend the bra.
